Recently, I returned from an amazing vacation in Thailand. It was my second time visiting this beautiful country and was reminded of how fabulous the islands and beaches are. I enjoyed a Star Clipper cruise along the coast, it is a boutique sailing vessel that is able to go to islands that larger ships can not sail to. It provided a much more personalized experience. The stunning beaches are just one of the reasons to visit Thailand. Keep reading to learn more.

2. Weather

Thailand has three major seasons and all three can make for a great sunny vacation.   During the dry season all of Thailand is amazing, during the hot season, tourists escape to the amazing coastal beaches. During the wet season it is best to visit Bangkok and northern Thailand.

3. The Street Food

Street food is practically a way of life in Thailand. Bangkok is probably best known for its street food, but there are plenty of stalls and markets across Thailand.   Street food is cheap so there is no excuse for not trying new things.  Just keep in mind that spicy food in Thailand is a whole different experience!

4. The Beaches

With over 1,500 miles of coastline, Thailand’s beaches are plentiful and incredible!    Many beaches are popular tourist destinations and can get a little crowded, but there are lots of options if you are looking for something quiet and more secluded.   One thing all the beaches have in common is they are stunning.

5. Temples

Thailand is home to more than 40,000 Buddhist temples.  Some of these temples date back centuries while many others are much newer.   Most temples are constructed with wood and stone but The Million Bottle Temple was constructed from recycled beer bottles!  While visiting temples be sure to check out the many Buddha statues and relics.

Thailand has some of the best and beautiful dive sites in the world.   Pattaya is a popular dive spot that is known for the many sea turtles that call the waters home.   Koh Tao is popular with divers hoping to catch a glimpse of whale sharks who migrate through the area each year.
